Dear Like Likro and all the writers – thank you so much! I have an important question. What do you do when there's one kid in class who bothers you all the time even though you didn't do anything to him? There's a kid in my class who bothers me and hits me for no reason, and I don't know what to do anymore. Thanks a lot to everyone who answers ❓

I think you should go up to this kid and ask him why he keeps bothering you. Maybe you hurt his feelings without meaning to or noticing, and that’s why he’s bothering you.

You need to show him you’re not a kid who can be picked on. I’m not saying you should hit him, but tell him clearly that you won’t put up with this anymore. If you show him you’re confident, he’ll stop bothering you. And if he keeps hitting you, tell a teacher or your parents – hitting is never okay.

Dear reader,

When a kid bothers another kid, sometimes it means he wants to connect with him – otherwise he’d just ignore him. Maybe the kid who’s bothering you wants to be friends but doesn’t know how to do it the right way, so he bothers you to get your attention. Maybe try just being his friend? Treat him in a friendly way, and then he might stop looking for attention the wrong way.

That way the bothering could stop – and maybe you’ll even become best friends!

I had a classmate who liked to bother anyone who got upset. He bothered me, and I ignored him, so he stopped. But with kids who cried and got angry, he kept going. Don’t react to him – when he sees it doesn’t bother you, he’ll probably stop.

Hi!

I’m not sure if this is true, because I don’t know you.

Maybe think about why this kid bothers you specifically. Maybe sometimes you act in a way that annoys him, and that’s why he bothers you.

There are girls in my class who aren’t nice to their friends and then cry that people are picking on them.

Good luck, with all my 💙

When I was in third grade, kids in my class teased me a lot. Everyone laughed at me and enjoyed picking on me. I decided to ask one of the kids why they were laughing at me. I was afraid he’d yell at me, but he was actually nice and explained that they thought my clothes were weird, my glasses were big and I had a funny accent, because my parents came from another country.

After that talk he felt bad for me, stopped teasing me and convinced his friends to stop too. My parents didn’t buy me new glasses or new clothes – my classmates just got to know me.

My advice, from my own experience, is to talk to him about it. Maybe it will help like it did for me.

Good luck
